Maya Sharma is an incoming college student at Johns Hopkins University. She has won several prizes in science, math, essay writing, and arts at school, state, and national competitions. In 2022, Maya was recognized as one of the top 300 young scientists in the country for her work on applying IoT to improving water management in agriculture by Regeneron National Science Talent Search Competition - the most prestigious science competition for high school seniors in the US. She is an author of a widely acclaimed book, “Paving: Conversations with Incredible Women who are Shaping our World” published by Olympia Publishers (UK). The book captures her conversations with some of the most pioneering women leaders around the world. Maya regularly speaks on topics of diversity, leadership, and STEM at conferences, on TV, libraries, podcasts, and more. Additionally, Maya has published her research work on a range of topics in medicine and high technology that focus on applying new technologies to pressing world problems. She won first place in a state-wide essay competition organized by World Affairs Council. She was also the captain of her school’s robotics team and led her team to state championships. Maya loves to travel globally, read books, play piano, and spend time with her friends.
